FCT Teen Theatre Scholarship

The Fremont Community Theatre (FCT) is proud to support young talent pursuing higher education in the arts through our annual Teen Theatre Scholarship program. This year, FCT will award one to three scholarships, with amounts ranging from $200 to $1000. The final number of scholarships and award amounts will depend on the number of applications we receive and the success of our Audience Choice Award fundraiser.

Eligibility Criteria: To qualify for an FCT College Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a high school senior planning to pursue a college degree in theatre, performing arts, or a related field.
  • Have demonstrated involvement with Fremont Community Theatre through participation in productions, technical support, or other volunteer activities.
  • Exhibit a commitment to the performing arts and a strong desire to further their artistic skills.

The FCT Teen Theatre Scholarship provides a meaningful boost to students passionate about the arts, helping them take the next step toward their dreams. Applications are open, and we encourage all eligible students to apply!

**FCT Teen Theatre Scholarship Eligibility**

To support aspiring theatre students, the Fremont Community Theatre (FCT) awards annual scholarships to eligible high school seniors involved in our Teen Theatre program. Below are the requirements for applying for the FCT College Scholarship:

  • **Post-secondary Enrollment:** Applicants must have been accepted into an accredited post-secondary program for the upcoming school year.
  • **Active Membership:** Applicants must be active members of Fremont Community Teen Theatre in good standing.
  • **Previous Recipients:** Applicants who have received the Fremont Community Theatre Scholarship in a prior school year are not eligible.
  • **Application Form:** Applicants must complete the Fremont Community Theatre Application for College Scholarship.
  • **Academic Transcript:** Applicants must include a transcript covering the past four years of their education.
  • **Theatrical Resume:** A resume listing each production experience is required, detailing the role or technical position, show name, and theatre name and address.
  •  **Recommendation Letters:** Two sealed letters of recommendation are required:
    •  One from a teacher, drama director, or other education professional.
    • One from a non-family individual directly involved with Fremont Community Theatre who is familiar with the applicant’s participation
  • **Personal Statement:** Applicants must submit a one-page, typewritten response answering the following:
    •  What are your future goals for theatre, including community theatre?
    •  How will your education help you achieve these goals?
    •  If your major is not theatre-related, how will you use your major to contribute to community theatre?

The Fremont Community Theatre (FCT) is proud to support young talent through our Teen Theatre Scholarship program. Each year, FCT awards scholarships to outstanding high school seniors who have shown dedication and passion for the arts, both on and off stage.

Scholarship recipients will be identified by April 30, with awards presented at their high school’s scholarship ceremony in May. These honorees will also be celebrated at FCT’s annual Laurel Awards Banquet in June.
