Fremont Community Theatre (FCT) has been a cornerstone of the performing arts in Northwest Ohio since 1956. As we proudly celebrate our 70th season, we continue our mission to provide accessible, high-quality live theatre that entertains, educates, and inspires. What began as a small group of local theatre lovers has grown into a thriving all-volunteer organization that produces five Main Stage shows each season, along with youth and teen productions, workshops, and community outreach.
FCT is a nonprofit, 100% volunteer-run theatre, meaning every production you see on our stage is powered by people from our own community—actors, directors, technicians, set builders, ushers, and board members all donate their time and talents to bring theatre to life. Our organization welcomes individuals of all ages and backgrounds, offering opportunities for artistic expression, education, and collaboration in an encouraging and inclusive environment.
Over the years, FCT has become more than just a stage—it’s a creative home where friendships are built, talents are nurtured, and memories are made. Generations of families have performed together, audience members have grown into performers, and young people have found their voices and confidence through our programming. We believe theatre builds community, and at FCT, that sense of community extends far beyond the footlights.
Our theatre, located at 1551 Dickinson Street in Fremont, Ohio, seats nearly 200 guests and hosts a variety of productions each season—from classic musicals and gripping dramas to laugh-out-loud comedies and thought-provoking contemporary works. FCT also partners with local schools and organizations to offer educational performances and special events, supporting arts access and appreciation for all ages.
We invite you to be part of our story. Whether you’re interested in acting, volunteering, sponsoring, donating, or simply attending a show, there’s a place for you at Fremont Community Theatre. Join us as we celebrate the power of storytelling, creativity, and community—live on stage.
The Fremont Community Theatre (FCT) Teen program is a dynamic branch of the Fremont Community Theatre that focuses on engaging the youth of the community in the performing arts. Designed for teenagers, this program encourages creative expression, teamwork, and leadership skills by providing young people with the opportunity to participate in live theatre productions, both on stage and behind the scenes. FCT Teen productions allow teens to take on a variety of roles, including acting, directing, set design, stage management, and more.
Through FCT Teen, young performers gain valuable experience in all aspects of theatre, from auditioning and rehearsing to performing in front of a live audience. The program fosters a welcoming environment where teens can develop their talents, make new friends, and build confidence while learning the fundamentals of theatre production. In addition to honing their artistic skills, teens involved in FCT also learn the importance of responsibility, collaboration, and dedication.
This initiative plays a crucial role in continuing the theatre’s tradition of cultivating a love for the arts within the local community. Many FCT Teen participants go on to pursue careers in the arts or continue their involvement in community theatre as adults. With a mission to inspire and support the next generation of theatre artists, FCT Teen ensures that live performance remains a thriving and accessible part of the community’s cultural life.
The Fremont Community Theatre Youth Theatre program is dedicated to nurturing the talents of young performers, providing a platform for children and teens to explore the world of live theatre. Through workshops, productions, and educational experiences, the Youth Theatre aims to instill a love for the performing arts in the next generation while building their confidence, creativity, and teamwork skills.
Open to participants of various ages, the program allows young actors to experience all aspects of theatre production, from acting and singing to set design and stage management. Whether they are interested in taking center stage or helping behind the scenes, youth members are given the opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Each season, the Fremont Community Theatre Youth Theatre produces shows specifically tailored for young audiences and performers, often choosing family-friendly classics or original works that challenge and inspire participants. Through these productions, young people learn the importance of dedication, collaboration, and artistic expression.
The Youth Theatre program also serves as a stepping stone for aspiring young artists, with many participants going on to perform in mainstage productions or pursue further studies in the arts. Fremont Community Theatre remains committed to fostering a creative space where young talent can flourish, ensuring that the future of theatre remains bright and vibrant.
